Golden Baked Tofu

I improvised this recipe while in Florida on vacation. I had a limited selection of what to work with but I am now in love with this recipe. I think there are two keys to this deliciousness: golden maple syrup and fresh orange juice. When we bought our supplies for our week at a condo, it was the golden maple syrup from Whole Foods that turned out to be a highlight. It’s light, sweet and delicious. And now I look for it whenever I am in Whole Foods.

Golden Baked Tofu

A basic baked tofu recipe that works on a blue plate special, in a sandwich, or diced up in a salad.

Course Main Course
Servings 8 pieces of tofu

Ingredients

  • 1 package extra firm tofu
  • 1 tbsp grainy mustard
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp golden maple syrup
  • 1/2 fresh orange fresh juice

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu, for as long as you have time for. Preheat the oven to 350. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

  2. Whisk the marinade ingredients together and pour over the tofu. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the tofu is just browning on the edges.

  3. Enjoy with side dishes like rice and broccoli or let cool and use for sandwiches. Enjoy!
