Vanilla Cinnamon Cashew Milk

IMG_7289

Everyday at the end of The BluePrint Cleanse, I had a bottle of cashew milk. It was sweetened with agave and spiced with cinnamon and vanilla. We loved it so much I figured out a version to make at home. I use dates, vanilla powder, and cinnamon. It’s truly like having the best milkshake ever and now we can’t live without it!ย I make a batch every couple of days and store it in a covered jar in the refrigerator.ย We just shake it up when we are ready for a treat.

Note: Use pure organic vanilla powder.ย I use either Sunfood or Organic Traditions.

Makes about 3 cups

1 cup raw cashews
3 cups filtered water
9 Medjool dates, pitted
1/4 teaspoon vanilla powder
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon

Add the cashews, water, and pitted dates to the Vitamix or blender. Let it rip until super smooth. You don’t even have to strain it!

If you don’t have a Vitamix, soak the cashews for 4 hours. Then blend as above. Pour the milk through a fine mesh strainer over the jar (if the mouth is wide enough) or over a bowl with a spout.

Add the vanilla powder and cinnamon right into the jar. Put the top on securely and shake well. Place in the refrigerator.

Shake well before drinking. It’s good for a few days but it will be gone before that. Enjoy!
