CSA 2013 Week #24

IMG_3282

This is it! My final week of the 2013 CSA. I love the idea of the CSA but not the reality. I have done this for 2 years and it actually became more stressful than fun. There are some items that we don’t like and then I have to stress over finding someone to give them to or worse, waste it. I will just to go to the farmer’s market and buy local and organic when I can. And I am going to grow my own lettuce and herbs next year.

Finally, a squash! And Brussels sprouts! I can’t wait to shred those Brussels sprouts and make one of my favorite pasta dishes. And roasted acorn squash flowers.

One new item I learned about this year are these little lunch box peppers. They are perfect for my son’s lunch. Of course, I will make salad and potatoes. I am heading over to my friend Cindy with the eggplants, turnips, and radishes!

1 stalk Brussel Sprouts
1 pc. Acorn Squash
1 bunch Cilantro
1 head Green Boston
1 head Arrowhead Cabbage
4 oz. Lunch Box Peppers
2 lbs. Red Fingerlings
1 head Broccoli
