“I have never seen purple and orange cauliflowers before. I can’t wait to eat them!” says my 4 year old son. How can a kid resist these beautiful colors?
There are farmer’s markets everywhere, even in big cities. Find one near you and take your kids. Show them the gorgeous colors of the fall harvest and introduce them to nature’s bounty.
There are many ways to enjoy these cauliflowers. You can steam them straight up. Or you can cook them with potatoes in water, drain them, and do a potato-cauliflower mash up. Or you can roast them in a 400 oven tossed with a tablespoon of olive oil. You can make potato leek soup with either color. And you can use the orange one in butternut squash soup. Be creative and enjoy!
They are gorgeous!
